• Lead coordinator for annual faculty merit review process
• School-level faculty data collection and reporting (e.g., USNWR, IEEE, ASEE, etc.)

    • T/TT Appointments, Promotions, Tenure (APT)
    • RTPC (full-time, Adjunct, PTL, Volunteer and Visiting) faculty appointments, promotions, and renewals
    • Annual faculty performance/merit review
    • Sabbaticals and other leaves (e.g., paid, unpaid, modification of duties, fellowship, etc.)
    • Faculty and staff overloads (teaching or service, including summer)
  • Postdoctoral Scholar appointments and renewals (in coordination with VBA)
  • Visiting Scholar appointments and renewals (in coordination with academic units and VASE for visiting students)
  • Visas: J-1 and H1-B (in coordination with Viterbi Human Resources, which serves as lead)

  • Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure (APT) coordination (T/TT)
  • Mid-probationary reviews
  • Joint appointments (T/TT)
  • Retirements and phased retirements (T/TT)
  • Emeritus appointments (T/TT)
• Faculty mentoring assignments (T/TT and RTPC, in coordination with academic units)
• Support to VFA for the annual faculty review process (T/TT)
• Requests for sabbaticals and other leaves (T/TT and RTPC)
• VFA staff support to the APT Committee (T/TT cases)
• Back-up to Faculty Affairs Coordinator

  • Faculty offer letters and other faculty related correspondences (FT RTPC faculty)
  • Retirements and phased retirements (RTPC)
  • Emeritus appointments (RTPC)
  • Joint appointments (RTPC)
• Administrative appointments (T/TT and RTPC)
• Support to VFA for the annual faculty review process (FT RTPC)
• Faculty (T/TT and RTPC) and staff teaching (in coordination with academic units and VHR) overloads
• VFA staff support to the APT Executive Committee (RTPC cases)
• Back-up to the Senior Faculty Affairs Coordinator and Faculty Affairs Coordinator

• Leads and shares faculty affairs administrative duties, having primary responsibility for
  • Workday academic appointments (part-time (PT) faculty)
  • Workday faculty postings and coordination of faculty searches (PT)
  • Appointments, promotions, reappointments, and non-reappointments of Adjuncts, PT, Volunteer, and Visiting faculty
  • Faculty offer letters and other faculty related correspondences for Part-Time faculty in coordination with academic units
• Endowed/named chairs and professorships
• Recall to service from retirement
• Visiting Scholars - appointments and offer letters (in coordination with academic units and VASE)
• Visas: J-1 and H1-B (in coordination with Viterbi Human Resources, which serves as lead)
• VFA point-of-contact for Service Dashboard Tool (School/Univ service activities)
• VFA staff point-of-contact to the Engineering Faculty Council (EFC)
• Support to VFA for the annual faculty review process (PT)
• VFA special projects, as assigned, including Dean and Vice Dean for Faculty Affairs
• Back-up to the Senior Faculty Affairs Coordinator and Faculty Affairs Coordinator
