- Departments post requisitions for Part-Time Lecturers for the upcoming fall semester
- Departments close all of the job postings from the previous year in FAM (end of recruitment cycle)

- Departments should be finalizing dossiers that are due in the coming fall semester
August
August 17 - New Faculty Orientation and Welcome Event
Early August
- Faculty recruitment cycle - Departments submit requests to the Vice Dean for Faculty Affairs to hire full-time T/TT faculty
Mid-August
- Faculty recruitment cycle - Departments place ads for approved T/TT faculty job openings, if applicable, and update department faculty positions web pages for RTPC and T/TT postings
- The Dean meets with the APT Committee to review the committee's charge; the APT Committee elects its Executive Committee
Late August
- Faculty recruitment cycle - Dean's Office submits ads to the Chronicle of Higher Education, NSBE, SHPE, SWE, and minoritypostdoc.org
- Dean's Office confirms with departments all faculty mentor/mentees for junior faculty
- In coordination with departments and programs, the Dean's Office ensures last year's recruitment cycle postings are closed or marked inactive
- Departments submit their part-time faculty report to the Dean's Office
September
Early September
- September 1 - Promotion dossiers for Associate to Full and dossiers for Senior Lateral Appointments with tenure are due to the Dean's Office
- Fall teaching overload requests are due to the Dean's Office
Mid September
- The Dean's Office confirms with departments the probationary faculty due for mid-probationary review in the upcoming spring
Late September
- Deadline for nominations for Distinguished and University Professors
October
Early October
- Departments close their requisitions for Part-Time positions posted for the fall semester
- Departments submit to the Dean's Office the mini-dossiers for T/TT faculty hires starting in the upcoming spring semester
Mid October
- The Dean's Office provides a snapshot of current joint appointments to each Department chair
Late October
- Departments post requisitions for Part-Time positions for the upcoming spring semester
November
November 1
- Dossiers for promotion with tenure (Assistant to Associate) are due to the Dean's Office
- Dossiers for (non-)reappointment of research or teaching faculty are due to the Dean's Office
Late November
- Departments review and renew faculty joint appointments
December
Early December
- Departments submit spring teaching overload requests to the Dean's Office
- The Dean's Office provides a report to the Department Chair listing their faculty members' current sabbatical accruals and eligibility for leave
January
Early January
- Departments begin conducting the mid-probationary reviews of their tenure-track assistant professors
- Departments submit faculty teaching overload requests for the current spring semester
Late January
- Deadline for departments to submit their faculty members' sabbatical requests to the Dean's Office (January 15)
- Deadline for faculty to complete their annual faculty reviews (AFRs)
- All faculty CVs in myViterbi should be current
- Departments submit their part-time faculty report to the Dean's Office
February
Early February
- Dossiers for RTPC promotion and any senior lateral appointments with tenure dossiers are due to the Dean's Office
- Departments close requisitions for Part-Time positions posted for the current spring semester
Mid February
- Department chairs submit their faculty merit evaluations to the Dean's Office
March
Early March
- Department chairs submit their recommended merit increases and ratings to the Dean's Office
Spring Break
- Joint APT/EFC Merit Review Committee reviews the merit evaluation procedures with Department Chairs and Program Directors, and prepares recommendations to the Dean
Mid March
- Faculty Merit Raise proposal meetings between the Department Chairs and Program Directors and the Dean
April
Early April
- Department chairs notify the Dean's Office of their APT department representative
- APT at-large members are elected by the relevant faculty bodies
- Departments' faculty searches should be drawing to a close
Mid April
- The departments forecast the upcoming year's APT cases to the Dean's Office
- Departments submit potential referee writer names to the Dean's Office for approval prior to solicitation
Late April
- Departments submit for review to the Dean's Office drafts of memos for mid-probationary reviews
May
May 1
- Departments submit an electronic copy and one hard copy of the mid-probationary reviews to the Dean's Office
Early May
- If not already done so, departments submit potential referee writer names to the Dean's Office for approval prior to solicitation
Late May
- Departments begin assembling dossiers that are due in the coming fall semester
